Papers of the Cabell family [manuscript], 1770-1959 (bulk 1860-1959).

Include correspondence, business and legal papers, notes, school report cards, genealogical material, poetry and a carte-de-visite album. Correspondence includes letters to Eva Cabell, particularly from Peachy G. Harrison re: his Civil War experiences. Also of interest are a photograph of Colonel Wirt Robinson, 1929, and notes concerning him, 1952; and some references to the history of "Colleton," Nelson County, Va. Genealogical material concerns Bogardus, Cabell, Gantt, Glover, Perkins and Simpson families. Miscellaneous papers include a few business papers of Captain John Cabell, physician licences, school report cards, a history of Midway Mill, Wingina, Nelson County, poetry, and a photograph of the Cabell Memorial Chapel, Somersetshire, England, and a carte-de-visite album containing portraits of several Cabell family members.
